Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to the details you give us when you ask for a quote. We keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email Fiona@aigfabs.co.uk.
Who we are
AIG Fabrications Ltd is the data controller. That means we decide how your details are used.
- Registered in England and Wales, company number 08472183
- Registered office: Orchard Works, Spenvale Street, Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, WF16 0NQ
- Email: Fiona@aigfabs.co.uk
- Phone: 01924 401064
What we collect
When you use our quote form, we get:
- your name, phone number and email
- the postcode of the job
- the service you pick and anything you tell us about the job
- whether you ticked the box for news and offers
If you email us drawings, photos or sizes, we keep those with your request. Our form service also receives the technical details your browser sends, such as your IP address. It uses these to deliver the form and block spam.
Why we use it
- To reply to your quote request and give you a quote.
- To call or email you about the job, if you go ahead.
- To send you news and offers, only if you ticked the box.
We never sell your details. We do not use them for anything else.
Our lawful basis
- Quotes and jobs: you asked us for a quote, so we use your details to take steps before a possible contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Keeping records: we keep some records because the law says we must, for example for tax (Article 6(1)(c)).
- News and offers: only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can take it back at any time.
Who else sees it
We only share your details with services that help us run the business, under contract:
- Web3Forms runs our quote form and emails your request to us. It is run by Web3Creative, a business based in India, on Amazon Web Services servers in the United States. It keeps a copy of each form for a limited time. This is outside the UK. Web3Forms provides a data processing agreement that covers how it handles your details.
- Microsoft 365 runs our email, where your request and any files you send are kept.
- Google: a backup copy of each quote request goes to the email inbox of the person who looks after our website, which is run by Google. It is used only to make sure no request is lost.
- Cloudflare hosts this website. Like any web host, it receives the technical details your browser sends, such as your IP address, so it can show you the pages and protect the site.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests that do not go ahead: we delete them after 2 years.
- Customer and job records: we keep them for 6 years after the end of the financial year, because the law requires us to keep business and tax records for that long.
If you ask us to stop sending news and offers, we stop straight away.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your details
- correct details that are wrong
- delete your details
- limit how we use them, or object to how we use them
- send your details to you or another company in a common format
- stop using them for news and offers
To ask, email Fiona@aigfabs.co.uk or call 01924 401064. It is free. We reply within one month.
Opting out of news and offers
The news and offers box on our form is optional and starts unticked. If you ticked it, you can change your mind at any time. Reply "stop" to any email from us, or email Fiona@aigfabs.co.uk.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use cookies. If we count visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies either. It tells us how many people visit and which pages they use. It does not follow you to other sites or build a profile of you.
The home page saves one small note in your browser, for this visit only, so the opening logo animation does not play again on every page. It holds no personal details and is deleted when you close the tab.
The map on our contact page only loads when you tap "Show the map". It then comes from Google, and Google's own privacy policy applies.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we use your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Online: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
- Phone: 0303 123 1113
